Absence makes the heart grow

Andrew started preschool this year.  A whole year earlier than Ali, Shad, and Enoch, and a half a year earlier than Liam. (Liam had a speech delay, so he got to go to the public preschool)
He loves it.  I love it.  Our time a part makes the things he does cute instead of crazy.
Here he is putting hand soap in his hair.  When I asked why, he told me " It smells nice."
His preschool class made a book.  They asked each kid, "If you could go any where in the world, where would you go?"  Andrew said, "The Kitchen."  !!  He loves to help me bake food.  He always wants to touch the different ingredients that I put into the bowl.  He touches the flour, the sugar, the yeast, and salt.  He loves to feel things.  I hope he always remembers our time in the kitchen.

Snow day

I LOVE snow days.  Maybe more than my kids love them.  I let everyone play games and watch T.V. until around 9:00.  Then I start making them do a list that I have made up for them.  They all complain about it, but I know that they secretly like it.

I make them do different things each time, but some typical things are:  reading, playing with a sibling, bathing, cleaning chores, practicing a talent.
Everyone stopped their list for a moment to make sugar cookies.  Sugar cookies are a lot of fun to make, and I always want to do them more than I do.  I normally make chocolate chip because they are my favorite.
This was the very first day, Andrew stood.  I didn't quite get a picture of it but believe me he let go of the tub and just stood there for at least 5 seconds several times.   Moments like these make me so thankful that I am blessed enough to be a stay at home mom and see these important mile stones.

Family Night 2/2/15

Greg taught  a lesson on the Plan of Happiness and the movie Groundhogs Day sort of all mixed together.  I love the movie Groundhogs Day.  It has so much meaning.  Later that night, Greg and I stayed up to watch it.

Andrew had a hard time paying attention.  He went of to explore.

Simon Says was our game.

Ice cream sandwiches was dessert.  Yum.  ( we all had two)

Family Night 1/26/2015

It has been two weeks since this Family Night.  So I can't even remember what Greg is acting out.

This picture brings happiness to my heart.  Now if we could only harmonize.
We had an opening song, and a lesson.  I can't remember on what.

Then we played charades again.

Jello Jigglers for dessert

100 day of school

For the 100th day of school, everyone dressed up like they were 100 years old.
I hurried up to get everyone ready.  And I had them outside waiting for the bus.   Then the neighbor called out to them that school was on a delay! Snap!  In Kentucky, school sometimes gets cancelled even if there is only 1/10 of an inch of snow on the ground.  I hadn't even thought to check.

Shad sometimes is a smarty pants.  He was supposed to write an essay about what he would do with a 100 dollars.  I would.... "save it up." HA!

Popular - LAR

Ali sang Popular from the musical Wicked at the school Talent Show.  She was AMAZING.  I forgot the video camera.  I was so sad.

Hamlin Boys minus EE

Andrew loves peas.  I am surprised he is coordinated enough to  pick them up and put them in his mouth at 6 months.

Shadrach's job today was to help Liam with a puzzle.  Andrew was happy to give assistance when needed.

Shadrach also started piano lessons.  I am very excited for this new adventure.
